Under the worldwide registered trademark "digestarom", our experience has helped us to achieve a sophisticated product line that, together with the high standards of raw materials used are clearly attributed to the flavour and appetizing substances and simultaneously partly classic flavours. The aroma components, mainly essential oils, are combined so that in addition to improving the taste of the feed, the digestion processes are stimulated. Thus, digestive performance is optimized thereby augmenting animal performance. In view of the already high level of performance, feed efficiency is in many ways of special significance. The diets can be more cost-effective without sacrificing performance by lowering the protein and energy levels or the use of cost-saving components.

digestarom has a multifunctional stabilising effects on the metabolishm of the animals thereby influencing their health, fertility, performance persistence and also the pre- and postnatal development of the animals positive. Another important fact is that through better digestive performance, pressures upon the environment are reduced because nitrogen absorbed is converted into animal protein whereby less nitrogen compounds are excreted.

The products contain, depending on the species, 40 to 80 (or more) different standardized raw materials from plants.  All raw materials are used in accordance to the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), registered according to EU Regulation 1831/2003 rovisions and have GRAS (Generally Recognised as Safe and is a prerequisite for use in the U.S.) status. The most important quality criterion for the raw materials used is the standards set by the pharmacopoeias (e.g. DAB, Germany Pharmacopoeia).
The efficacy of digestarom has been scientifically proven in more than 300 laborious studies at universities, research institutions and in practice, and is statistically significant. In cell biology studies the complex mode of action of digestarom® in the frame of costiler basic research is described. This work not only give insight into the influences on the so-called “mediators”, but also serve to further development of the products. The most important findings so far: One of the health promoting effects of digestarom is that it works by inhibiting inflammatory processes in the intestine.

The use of standardized natural ingredients (essential oils) represent the availability of a natural feed additve for organic farmers that has the potential to compensate for the numerous problems that arise specifically from restrictions in the area of protein supply. It is unfortunate that in the EU products like digestarom® are becoming increasingly curtailed in terms of their usability and factual objective arguments supplant ideological considerations.
